Residents of Tullytown Borough, one of Bucks County’s oldest and historic communities, to call Tullytown home……
One of the first impressions of our community noted by a visitor to historic Pennsbury Manor, an employee of one of our local businesses or boater on Warner Lake will be the appearance of property owners’ lawns, gardens and over all property.
Perhaps it was, particularly, with that in mind that the Borough Council enacted Chapter 92 of the Borough Code:
“the owner of any premises…..shall remove, trim or cut all grass, weeds or other vegetation upon such premises……”
While the Ordinance specifically addresses property appearance, it must also be remembered that the Ordinance also addresses the very real issue of the community health and safety. Overgrown and unkempt property is an open invitation to all types of destructive disease carrying rodents, ticks, insects, etc.
During this season of lush and rapid growth of vegetation (both wanted and unwanted) this message is a reminder of Property Owners’ responsibility to maintain their property.
