ATTENTION ALL HOME IMPROVEMENT CONTRACTORS
To apply for, and receive construction permits after July 1, 2009, you MUST have a contractor’s registration card issued by the Pennsylvania Attorney General Office.
Who must apply?
Any person who owns and operates a home improvement business or who undertakes, offers to undertake or agrees to perform any home improvement. The term includes a subcontractor or independent contractor who has contracted with a home improvement retailer, regardless of the retailer’s net worth; to provide home improvement services to the retailer’s customers. The term does not include any of the following services:
(a) A person for whom the total cash value of all that person’s home improvements is less than $5,000 during the previous taxable year.
(b) A home improvement retailer having a net worth of more than $50,000,000 or an employee of that retailer that does not perform home improvements.

TO APPLY FOR PERMITS
Building permit applications are accepted by Tullytown Borough Building and Zoning Department at 500 Main Street, Tullytown, PA 19007 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The applicant for a permit must be the homeowner or an authorized agent of the homeowner. The homeowner is ultimately responsible to make sure all necessary permits are acquired, and all inspections are completed.

Commercial Contractors:
All commercial contractors must be registered with Tullytown Borough –
- Complete Commercial Contractor License Application
- Provide current Certificate of Insurance naming Tullytown Borough as additional insured
- Submit Annual Fee of $100 preferably by check made payable to Tullytown Borough or cash
Residential Contractors:
All contractors performing work for homeowners must be registered through the Pennsylvania Attorney General Office at www.attorneygeneral.gov
